Any time Vollebak releases a new product, you know it’s going to immediately become the most capable in the world at whatever it’s supposed to do. And that’s exactly what’s happened with the brand’s updated Ocean Shorts, as the “supercar of shorts” has been completely reengineered from the ground up to function better in all situations.
Vollebak spent 18 months on R&D to create the new Ocean Shorts Granite Edition, and it was time well spent. Made from compression fabric that’s been laser cut to lose its compressing properties while retaining its impressive strength, the shorts now have a redesigned waist, length, and pockets that add more utility on land. The pockets are especially impressive, as they’re laser-cut and bonded to avoid abrasive seams, and they sport lasered holes with welded edges to drain out water. The new waistband also utilizes lasers and welding technology, naturally, along with a high-wicking, ultra-soft, and super-elastic lining. You’ll also still find what you loved about the original Ocean Shorts, like a lining made from one of the softest materials on Earth and a plant-based exterior treatment that repels water like nobody’s business. The Ocean Shorts Granite Edition are available now from Vollebak for $245.
