No this isn’t a new Audi R8. It’s actually Volkwagen’s latest creation, and it’s called the XL Sport. Set to debut at this week’s Paris Auto Show, VW is really to shake up the scene with this 2-door.

So let’s get to the nuts and bolts. The R8 inspired coupe is powered by a 1199-cc Ducati Superleggera V-twin engine that pumps out 200-horsepower and 99 lb-ft of torque. While that may not sound like a whole lot, it’s worth noting that this vehicle is boasting the world’s best ratio of power, weight and aerodynamics. Thanks to a .258 drag coefficient, the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer VW can sprint to 62 mph in just 5.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 168 mph. The nimble XL Sport tips the scales at 1,962 pounds, and is sure to make a huge splash at the upcoming auto show. At this point, the XL Sport is nothing more than a concept car, but it shows a lot promise for the auto maker’s future.
