It’s hard to believe it’s been 65 years since the original Type 2, known to many as the Volkswagen Bus. Now 12 million delivers later, the German auto maker pulls the curtain back on the sixth generation of its Transporter van series, the VW T6.

While remnants of the vans from yesteryear are certainly present, the T6 was built for the modern age. It sports a boxy silhouette, and comes with modern day tech like LED headlights and taillights, heated windscreen, electrically operated tailgate, infotainment system with 6.6-inch center console, adaptive cruise control and a whole lot more. The vehicle is powered by a new generation 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine, and will even be offered up in a turbocharged version. Expect the vehicle to start at roughly €23,035 in Germany when it hits dealers.
