Volkswagen ID Roomzz

Volkswagen has been investing rather heavily into the electronic vehicle space, and its expansive ID lineup is a testament to the brand’s commitment to sustainable alternatives. In an effort to bolster the range even further, the German company recently revealed the Roomzz — a sleek SUV that illustrates the manufacturer’s futuristic vision.

The monolithic ID Roomzz isn’t going to be me making a debut in the States — instead, it’s slated to launch exclusively in China for the company’s 2021 catalog. That being said, it doesn’t change the fact that the handsome SUV is a bold new take on the Volkswagen ethos. As a modular platform that integrates many of the manufacturer’s connected EV methodologies, the Roomzz will feature a level 4 autonomous drive capability, as well as articulating seats that face toward one another for a more sociable travel experience. But don’t discount the EV’s performance just yet — an electric motor at each axle allows for just over 300 horsepower, accelerating from 0-60 in under 6.6 seconds. A 280-mile range and half-hour, 80% recharge capability make the Roomzz a viable alternative for drivers who are looking to own an innovative family SUV — but only if you’re lucky enough to see it launch in your market.
