Volkswagen California XXL Campervan

This has been a big month for Volkswagen concepts. First, at the Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance, the German automaker rolled out their I.D. Buzz. Now, just a week later they’re sharing shots of their Volkswagen California XXL Campervan.

This luxurious apartment on wheels will likely not get as much press as the eye-catching all electric I.D. Buzz, but in our minds it is a whole lot cooler. The van features a large living area, a refrigerator, full bathroom, espresso machine, gas stovetop, and a lofted bed with a temperature controlled mattress. While any of that is impressive on its own, what really stands out is the panoramic glass roof. The simple but effective feature bathes the interior of the van in light and makes for super comfortable stargazing at night. As far as power goes, this vehicle is not lacking. The California XXL Campervan is equipped with a Turbodiesel with 4motion all wheel drive that sends 175 horses and 302 pound feet of torque through its six speed manual transmission.
