German auto maker Volkswagen may not be known for its pickup trucks (at least here in the states), but the Volkswagen Amarok Canyon Edition proves that the brand should definitely be making more of them.

Designed specifically for the great outdoors, this fully capable truck has been outfitted with a 2.0-liter BiTDI engine making 180 PS (roughly 178 horsepower) along with 420 Nm of torque. Drivers can choose from a 6-speed manual with selectable 4MOTION or a 8-speed automatic transmission that comes equipped with permanent 4MOTION. The off-road vehicle has also been outfitted with satellite navigation, Bluetooth technology, an optional roof light bar and 19-inch Cantera alloy wheels among other things. Before stateside residents get too excited, it’s worth noting that this four-door pickup will only be available in the UK when it releases on April 1st, 2014. The vehicle will be limited to only 350 examples. Hopefully in time VW brings this beauty to America.
