Swiss Army Knives have been a staple in the outdoor gear space for more than a century, with Victorinox steadily releasing updated and upgraded model variants every few years. And while the Swiss knife and watchmaker hasn’t released in new pocket knife model, it has returned to three of its best-selling existing blades to deliver a new blacked-out series christened the “Onyx Collection.”
Constituting the collection are blacked-out versions of the eight-tool Classic Lite, and the 12-tool Spartan and Ranger Grip 55 models. Sporting black scales baring white Victorinox logos, the tools and blades contained in the Onyx Collection models have all been hit with a Polispectral treatment, with the metal benefitting from a layer of chromium oxide. On top of every component on each of the knives receiving the full black monochrome treatment, the murdered-out trio also comes with a black lanyard decorated with a black Victorinox-logo’d bead. Each of the three blacked-out knives also comes in a special, matching black-on-black gift box. The Onyx Black Signature Lite, Spartan, and Ranger Grip 55 are scheduled for a release on September 28, 2020, with pricing set at $69, $85, and $129, respectively.
