The Seraph eVTOL Air Taxi Can Haul 3 Passengers At Up To 50MPH

With the way that technology is headed, it’s not out of the question to think that, in the near future, personal transportation will shift heavily to the aerospace arena. And it’s looking more and more like the first big step will be in the realm of all-electric ride-sharing. And the UK’s Vertical Aerospace is on the fast track to being the first on the scene.

Their flagship offering, called the Seraph, is the world’s first all-electric VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) to illustrate on camera the ability to carry over 550lbs (roughly the equivalent of three passengers) in operation. And it also has the ability to fly at speeds of up to 50mph. That makes it practically ready to head to market. But what’s perhaps most interesting is that VA isn’t looking to offer the Seraph exclusively as a personal mobility vehicle. Rather, they want to use it like an app-based air taxi akin to Uber’s upcoming Elevate service. Whatever the case, there’s no denying the promise of this unique transportation project and we look forward to more information.
