Occasionally, you’re too hungry to wait for your charcoal grill to heat up to temperature. The Velocity Grill sets out to make cooking quicker by heating up from 0 to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit in just five minutes.

Impressively, it heats up without any lighter fluid or coals; you simply use wood chunks and a crumpled piece of paper to start a fire. It uses a tiny fan right below the fuel chamber that draws air from the bottom and sends it upwards to fan the flames. This method creates a large enough fire in a short time so that the grill hits 1,000 degrees in virtually no time. There’s also a heat control dial that allows users to control the fan’s speed so that they’re always able to get the amount of flame they want to cook with. It can be powered by a wall outlet or a power bank. It’s available now on Kickstarter for an early backer price of $139. [Purchase]
