Vans Taps VSSL’s Outdoor Expertise For A Survivalist Adventure Collection

When it comes to outdoor exploration, Canada’s VSSL is no stranger to the game. The company has spent the better part of its life creating some of the industry’s most revered adventure peripherals; and now, they’ve decided to team up with the American footwear giant, Vans, for a unique new collection.

As you might expect, the brands’ new endeavor revolves around footwear. But, to set it apart from the menagerie of collaborations that Vans has participated in within the past year, VSSL has decided to devote each of the collection’s kits to its very own niche. The Vans Sk8-Hi Mountain Edition (MTE), which boasts a reliable nubuck upper, tan vamps, and a warm interior lining that’s been outfitted with moisture-wicking technologies, joins both the Vans Old Skool VLT LX and Era VLT LX to illustrate Mountain, Skate, and Surf culture as annotated by the collection’s different branches. With each silhouette, VSSL has gifted buyers with a “Camp Supplies” kit — an essential selection of over 70 survival items and waterproof first aid, stored in a mil-spec anodized aluminum case. The collection is set to arrive on VSSL’s website on November 1, and with only 100 examples of each slated for production, they’re bound to sell out fast.
