California is huge. The state boasts 163,696 square miles of everything from mountainous terrain to paved over parking lots and hidden beaches. One of the few sneakers capable of taking it all on? Vans x The North Face SK8-Hi.

A collaboration by two Golden State companies, The North Face, and Vans (both were founded in 1966), these sneakers are purpose built to take on cold weather while still retaining their street-style. The upper on the shoe is made from a combination of leather and synthetic materials – that both look great and keep water out. To keep wearers warm throughout the winter, the sneakers also boast a warm liner designed to trap heat, and an UltraCush insole for providing comfort no matter what. Going to be dealing with more than just wet, cold weather? Vans and The North Face equipped the sneaker with a deep lugged outsole built to retain traction even in snow.
