If you’re an advocate of West Coast lifestyle, you’ll likely recognize Dane Reynolds. Hailing from Ventura, California, the pro surfer has made a name for himself on the breaks of Los Angeles. And now, his apparel company, Former, is teaming up with Vans for a handsome new surf-inspired collection.

The partnership marks the first-ever collaboration for the pair, reenvisioning three different styles of shoe, a woven short sleeve t-shirt, and a pair of EverRide Stretch boardshorts. Calling upon a trio of Vans’ iconic shoes — the Style 36 FT Zip, Sk8-Hi 138 FT, and La Costa Lite X Slide — Former adapts the surf-styled collection with a decisively muted color palette, bringing subtle branding and shades of black, grey, and bone into the fray. Premium features like black leather, suede, and Vans’ proprietary UltraCush technology help to define the minimalistic range, complementing the equally-reserved EverRide Stretch boardshorts and brushed twill tee. The collection will be available through Vans Surf on June 22.
