If it’s not bottling up your vino or getting push pins stuck into it, cork is pretty much useless, right? Wrong. The creative types at Vans say cork is now also footwear-ready, and they’ve got a pair of shoes to prove it.

Vans Off The Wall presents the 2014 Summer Prelow “Cork,” shoes that are guaranteed to turn heads and, should you ever find yourself swimming in wine, you’ll be more than ready to keep it fresh. There’s a natural cork upper combined with black eyelets, laces, fabric lining and a comfortable Ultracush HD sole. And who needs a smartphone when you can pin your To-Do list or your girlfriend’s picture to your shoes? This is progress, people.
