Vans Made For The Makers SK8-HI

What makes a work shoe a work shoe? Does a pair simply become one once you lace them up and head out to the shop? Or is there something about the design of a pair of sneakers that puts them in this category. Vans seems to adhere to the latter way of thinking. Hence, the Vans Made for the Makers SK8-HI sneakers.

This new version of the classic high-top shoe is built specifically for those who work tough jobs in creative communities. Think surfboard shapers, tattoo artists, and barbers. The SK8-HI – along with the slip-ons, Old Skool, and Authentic silhouettes that are also included in this line – have a few special built-in features that make them ideal for wearing on long days. The most prominent update is the all-black 8-ounce vanguard canvas upper that beats back muck and moisture. While not quite as formidable as Gore-Tex, the treatment will most definitely keep you high and dry throughout the day. And for both better grip and comfort, the outsole of the shoe has been lugged while the interior is fitted with an Ultra Cush sockliner. Not bad for a day’s work.
