Any motorcycle enthusiast who comes across Confederate Motorcycles doesn’t soon forget their unmistakable aesthetic and engine block. So when we discovered this Roadster from NY-based Vanguard Motorcycles, we were a bit confused to say the least. That is until we discovered that Vanguard’s CTO is non-other than Edward Jacobs, the former Director of Design for Confederate between 2005 and 2011 and the CEO, Francois-Xavier Terny, was a board member at Confederate for many years as well.
Together, they make up this new bike outfit, slated to release this terminator-looking two-wheeler this month. It’s their first build and clearly they’ve come to make a statement. Dubbed the Roadster, this bike runs off a monstrous 1917cc v-twin engine that also acts as a frame element supporting other aspects of the build. The Roadster also hosts a sizable single-sided swingarm, a curved aluminum disc that acts as the rear wheel, a 21-liter carbon tank, fully integrated exhaust system, a tablet-sized color screen serving as the dash, a rear facing camera integrated into the tail and black Ohlins shocks at both ends. The list goes on, so be sure to check them out in the coming months. Production is set for 2018 with a listing price of $29,995. [Purchase]
