Valar Dohaeris Game Of Thrones Beer

With a long winter set to overtake the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and a looming war on the horizon, there’s only one thing to do…drink. In fact, it was Tyrian Lannister himself that stated, “I drink and I know things. It’s what I do,” and if Tyrian were here today odds are he’d snatch up several bottles of this new Game Of Thrones beer from Cooperstown, NY-based Ommegang Brewery.

Dubbed Valar Dohaeris, it’s a Tripel ale from the brewery and their answer to the previous Valar Morghulis Dubbel. High Valarian for “all men must serve,” Valar Dohaeris honors Arya’s time spent at the House of Black and White. It’s brewed using wheat, oats, pils, and flaked barley in their mash bill -hopped with noble hops to balance out the malt profile. Tripels are known for their light yet bold flavor and this one, in particular, offers a touch of sweetness thanks to the Belgian Candi Sugar used in the brewing process. However, at 9% alcohol, it’ll pack quick a punch, much like the young Stark this tasty brew honors in the process. You can pick up a bottle with a commemorative glass this fall.
