Since 2010, Nike and UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi have come together on a number of collaborative projects under the GYAKUSOU label. With each installment, the brands have worked to transform the former’s performance running gear into stylish street-ready athleisure. And while there’s no denying that it’s resulted in some highly desirable releases, their latest effort could very well be the best one yet.
The collection is comprised of two primary colorways — red and blue — with each one getting a trail running hat, a 3-layer jacket, a pair of sweat-wicking socks, as well as some pocketed utility tights. It’s undoubtedly some pretty eye-catching apparel, but the real stars of the show are Nike’s record-breaking Vaporfly NEXT% shoes. Available in three exclusive silhouettes, they come shod in red, green, and black hues, with the usual mix of breathable Vaporweave through the toes and cushy ZoomX in the midsole. However, each shoe’s upper has seen a pretty radical transformation, gaining various knits, meshes, and GYAKUSOU-branded overlays. Suffice to say — whether you rock them for running or for casual wear, they’re sure to add a little something extra to your active wardrobe.
