Much like Nike’s ACG range, Under Armour’s Street To Summit Collection is comprised of streetwear-inspired designs backed by ruggedized constructions and materials from the outdoor gear world, looking appropriate on the street while wholly capable of performing on the trails. And Under Armour’s latest design to marry these two elements is the UA HOVR Summit Fat Tire.
Starting with the original Fat Tire line from 2015, these “dual-sport sneakers” gain a host of updates including 360-degrees of soft HOVR foam and Michelin rubber outsoles. Lightweight and breathable synthetic and textile uppers are also mated to Energy Web compression mesh and an open hole tongue construction. The UA HOVR Summit Fat Tire also boasts a bungee lacing system that was modeled after the Agemaki knot that was originally used to piece together the armor of Samurai warriors. Furthermore, the shoes get a proprietary, shock-absorbing Charged Cushioning midsole platform, and a unique lugged outsole said to maximize traction across a myriad of conditions and terrains. Offered in two colors, the Under Armour UA HOVR Summit Fat Tire is available now with pricing set at $170.
