When a lot of folks think ‘hiking boots‘ the last brands that come to mind are the ones you expect to see in a gym. This is a shame, in our opinion. Just look at this newly released Under Armour Newell Ridge GTX.
This thing has is built for trekking through tough, cold, and rainy weather while providing solid support and a dynamic fit. Constructed with a tightly weaved textile upper supplemented with a Gore-Tex waterproof breathable membrane, welded toe cap, and proprietary Anafoam overlay. This gives the boot a tough and structured feel that still manages to articulate and move was you work your way through trails and up inclines. For superior grip while on the trail, the Maryland based athletic retailer used Michelin’s OC outsole with Dig Decent’r lug pattern in order to provide traction while heading up hills, and jaunting back down them. For those particularly steep declines, the midsole is fitted with a special charged foam that helps absorb footstrikes so you can keep going for longer. You can purchase for $180 through Zappos or Under Armour.
