We’ll be honest. At the beginning of last year, there is no way we would’ve said that Under Armour would be among our top 5 when it came to boots. Yet, over time, the brand has consistently turned out great offerings like their new UA Field Ops GORE-TEX.
Essentially a moc-toe shoe combined with a hunting-boot silhouette, this rugged hiker is made with a combination of a dense full-grain leather and breathable nylon paneling. The thick material along the toe, fore-foot, and mid-foot areas act as a first defense against moisture, while an extra layer of GORE-TEX underneath it creates a watertight seal. The textured nylon panel along the ankle of the boot allows for more breathability and helps resist abrasion from brush and rocks. To add a degree of stability and grip, the Maryland-based sports apparel brand added in a Wishbone TPU plate, and worked with Vibram to develop a super high traction outsole. Can you really ask for more?
