This Titanium Watch Was Designed By Top-Tier Audio Engineers

France’s Devialet is known far and wide for its expertise in audio-oriented peripherals, so it’s a bit abnormal to see them working alongside one of horology’s most lauded companies, Ulysse Nardin. But after taking a look at the pair’s most recent project, the Classico Hourstiker Phantom, it’s become relatively clear as to why they’ve decided to partner up.

The Classico Hourstriker Phantom is more than a lavish, skeletonized super-watch; it was created with a niche mission in mind. To create the industry’s most “unparalleled striking watch,” Ulysse Nardin and Devialet have paired a unique 43-millimeter brushed titanium case with an anthracite dial and skeletonized accents, paying homage to the recognizable protective housings that the audio company uses on its speakers. So, what’s Devialet — a masterful proprietor in the world of sound — doing with the construction of a limited-edition watch? Well, the Classico Hourstriker features an eight-perforation case back that allows its UN-610 self-winding movement to reach up to 85 decibels, making it one of the most audible watches ever created. Only 85 examples are slated for production; each of which will retail at just under $72,500.
