UFO Floating Home by Jet Capsule

While some people are thinking twice about buying ocean front property, others are just doubling down. Yacht maker Jet Capsule has mocked up a concept for their ‘Unidentified Floating Object’ home that is intended to operate totally off of the grid.

While this thing can move around the ocean under its own power (it only moves at about 3.5 knots), it’s primarily meant to just bob around while you beat out the apocalypse and live in the new dystopian Water World with style. This hypothetical home would generate energy from the 430 square feet of solar panels up on top and source more through a wind and water turbine. Fresh water would be filtered from the ocean for drinking and maintaining a vegetable garden. For when you are looking to keep out of the sun, you can escape to the living area on the inner portion of this vessel. Split in two parts – a 215 square foot upper deck, and 107 square foot lower area, you can either sit up top and gaze upon what destruction man has brought upon himself, or look at the remaining fish through the lower deck window. Jet Capsule has yet to build any – but are hoping to pick up investors who will help them realize this dream. If they ever come around to making one, you can expect to pay around $800,000 per home.
