U.F.O. Floating Home 2.0 by Jet Capsule
Earlier this year, Jet Capsule (a luxury yacht making company) unveiled plans for a floating homestead. Dubbed the Unidentified Floating Object, this lofty project seemed like nothing more than a big idea and a handful of renderings. But that’s all changed with the announcement that the brand is trying to bring these sea-based houses to market.
The newest version, the U.F.O. 2.0 is a little different from its predecessor. For starters, it’s significantly larger. The original was about 41 feet from end to end, whereas the 2.0 has a 65 foot diameter. It’s also now three levels, rather than two. The company also envisions fitting the home with twin engines that would move it at a rate of about 10 miles per hour. And, just like the first version, a combination of solar panels, wind and – potentially – water turbines will power the 2.0. The firm hopes to raise funds for a 2018 release, so keep your eyes peeled.
