TubeCore Duo Media Streaming Player

While many products do become successfully funded on Kickstarter, there are only a handful of them that successfully make their way to the retail scene. The Tubecore Duo streaming player is the latest project to do just that.

This is much more than your average Bluetooth speaker. The Duo is a hand-made, tube-driven media player that will rival your Xbox in functionality, and kick everything’s ass in design aesthetics. The hardwood cabinet houses a hi-fidelity speaker with two 50-watt drivers along with a 30-watt subwoofer for providing bass. The analog system is powered by a solid state amp alongside two single-phase vacuum tube pre-amplifiers, and it can do everything your favorite media streamer can (utilizing Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI and 2 USB ports). It does this by using the same open-source media center that was introduced by the team at Xbox (XBMC), meaning it can be hacked and upgraded to your heart’s content. [Purchase]
