TRIWA Smartwatch Concept by Gabor Balogh

Hungarian designer Gábor Balogh is like a lot of us; he breathes air, enjoys a fine sandwich, and wonders why smartwatches can’t look sophisticatedly stylish.

The difference between us and Gábor, though, is instead of posting snarky 2-cent opinions on message boards about it, he went and designed his own. This concept model is based on Swedish watchmaker Triwa’s Havana timepiece, and it looks like a watch first, then you notice its intelligent features. Gábor doesn’t envision a touchscreen here, but rather the use of the watch’s standard buttons and bezel to get things done, whether it’s showing your incoming calls, messages, navigation, song title and artist, heart rate, and more. Will Apple or Samsung take a cue from this design? Only time will tell.
