Triple Aught Design M-65 Field Jacket
The M-65 Field Jacket is one of the most classic and iconic coats ever, military or otherwise. And while the styling is as handsome as ever, original examples of the jacket are a bit lacking when it comes to technical features. Luckily, the folks at Triple Aught Design have come along and built a contemporary take on this time-honored men’s fashion staple.
They’ve certainly nailed-down the styling cues, from the OD green color to the large breast pockets, but the technical aspects of this coat are all new. For instance, the coat is made from a DWR-treated nylon and cotton canvas, giving it some much-needed weatherproofing. It also features a hideaway hood that zips into the collar for out-of-the-way storage when its not in use (a standard feature in the original, but neat and well-executed nonetheless). One of the biggest improvements, however, is that it features a removable Polartec Powerfill Liner — that works as its own jacket when not zipped into the M-65, but also makes the whole jacket an excellent cold weather option. Limited to just 500 examples, this jacket is on pre-sale now for $500.
