After spending the last decade carving out a reputation for producing uncompromising, technically-focused garments and gear, Triple Aught Design has taken its signature hallmarks and applied them to its first-ever piece of footwear with the Ghosting TRS Mid-Top.
Rather than crafting a boot for one specific purpose, TAD has engineered the Ghostwing TRS Mid-Top to be as versatile as possible, lending itself equally well to use in the city or out on the trail. Built atop an ultra-grippy and lightweight Vibram Megagrip 3D outsole, the boot features 6” custom-engineered 200D ripstop nylon uppers fortified via a breathable scrim and welded PU-film adorning the eye-rows and tongue. Sporting a dropped heel collar, the boot also packs uppers are outfitted with a PVD speed-lace system with hardwearing braided nylon laces guided by friction-mitigating machined ball bearings and subtly decorated in TAD’s signature topographical pattern which has been lasered into the uppers. Furthering the boot’s understated appearance is an exterior that sees every visible surface cloaked in matte finishes or materials while the inside of the Ghostwing boasts a synthetic microfiber suede lining and an open-cell PU foam foot-bed that’s 95% breathable, machine washable, and fully molded to the boot’s last. Offered in a grayish blue, dark green, brown, or black, the Triple Aught Design Ghosting TRS Mid-Top boot is available now for preorder for $175, before the regular MSRP jumps up to $185.
