After a quarter-century-long hiatus, Ford has revived its mighty Bronco, and alongside the slew of available factory models and numerous upgraded versions from outfits like Hennessey Performance Engineering and Maxlider Brothers, Texan RC car outfit Traxxas has also unveiled a 1:10 scale rock crawler version of the iconic American SUV.
Powered by a 21T Reverse Rotation motor drawing from a 5,000mAh iD LiPo battery pack and paired with a 2-speed Hi-Lo, remote-shifting transmission, the Traxxas Bronco is built around the company’s TRX-4 platform and features a steel ladder chassis with nylon composite cross-members, a metal servo horn, heavy-duty steel links, and aluminum scale shocks. The RC crawler also packs a shaft-driven 4WD system, a braking setup with electronic Hill Hold control, a 10b towing capacity, and replica bumpers complete with a fairlead, tow hooks, and receiver hitch. Boasting a 12.8” wheelbase and 3.14” of ground clearance, the Bronco crawler also offers an impressive approach, break-over, and departure angles of 52°, 58°, and 49°, respectively. Traxxas is also offering accessories for the Bronco including a remote winch and auxiliary LED lighting setups. Available now, the Traxxas TRX-4 2021 Ford Bronco RC Rock Crawler is priced at $550.
