There was a time when remote controlled vehicles were wimpy little approximations of cars that could barely tool around suburban streets. But those days ended a while ago. Now, there are some pretty incredible and capable vehicles that can hit absurd speeds even on rugged terrain. Even most of those, however, don’t compare to how badass the Traxxas 8S X-Maxx truck is.

Measuring up at 2.5 feet in length and weighing 20 pounds, the sheer size of this mini monster truck is daunting. But it can still whip its beefy body over just about any terrain at speeds upwards of 50 mph – yes, miles per hour. And that’s because it’s loaded with a 1200XL brushless motor, an all-metal gear drive train, oil filled aluminum shocks, strengthened axles, an integrated wheelie bar, and sits on 8″ tires. And, if you’re the type that likes to do your own repairs and modifications, you’ll be happy to know that this R/C beast also has a modular chassis for easier disassembly. Get your hands on one for $920.
