Travis Pastrana’s Subaru WRX STI Was Built To Dominate The Drift Circuit

Originally intended to help Ken Block to hone his rallycross skillset, Gymkhana has since taken on a life of its own. From sliding under lowriders to ripping up the streets of San Francisco to drifting around airliners in Dubai, anything is fair game for Block and the rest of the Hoonigan crew. They’ll stop at nothing to ensure each video in the series becomes more viral than the last. And for the first time ever, there will be a new face at the helm of the latest bonkers Gymkhana car.

That’s right, Ken Block will be sitting this one out. Instead, legendary X Games competitor Travis Pastrana will be driving this hot and wing-heavy Subaru WRX STI. Featuring a raw carbon fiber body with an aggressive aero kit, the Subie is unlike any Gymkhana car to come before it. It’s powered by a custom-made boxer engine specifically tuned for the event, and though Subaru has kept quiet about the exact specs, we expect it put out a good deal more than the stock STI’s 310 horses. And if that doesn’t inspire enough lunacy — Pastrana’s car has been fitted with a flame-spitting hood exhaust and some long-travel suspension. We can’t wait.
