Earlier this fall, Toyota unveiled a Tacoma “Go Anywhere Lifestyle Rig” as part of the first installment of its 2020 SEMA Show builds. Packed with overland potential, it featured everything from aluminum skid-plates to a Magnuson roots-type TVS1900 supercharger. Needless to say, it was ready to kick ass and take names, wherever the road (or lack thereof) happened to take you.
Just in time for the year’s end, Toyota is back again with another SEMA special based around the Tacoma pickup: the TRD Sport Trailer. And while the concept in itself is nothing new, it comes loaded with off-road-ready items. Headlining the build is undoubtedly the scissor-lift platform and Yakima four-person tent. Capable of raising several feet out of the bed, it also includes some expandable awnings and a host of fly fishing-pole holders. And when it comes to the creature comforts, the trailer has living provisions in spades. For instance, it includes a pair of storage tanks for fresh- and greywater, as well as a custom-built toilet and a curtained shower. Add to that a refrigerator, a hot water heater, and a slide-out sink and stove, and you have a trailer ideal for getting out there and off the beaten path.
