Toyota Tacoma Polar Expedition Truck
On one hand, rummaging through eBay all day at work can be a giant waste of time. On the other hand, you never know when you’ll encounter gems like this 2010 Toyota Tacoma Polar Expedition concept truck.
This one-off, 4-wheel drive vehicle was built specifically for traveling in the severe winter weather of Antarctica. Helmed by Jason De Carteret back in 2011, the vehicle broke not one, but two separate Guinness records in the South Pole – making it all the way there and back in under 40 hours. The vehicle was designed by London based Ian Nisbett while Lotus Engineering’s Kieron Bradley led the technical end of things. Powered by a TRD supercharged 4.0-liter V6 engine, the setup currently churns out 341 horsepower. The suspension is all custom built by world-renowned specialist Marconi, the interior has been outfitted with 4 Polar racing seats, full roll cage, 4 HD cameras to document everything, and 2 GPS devices to ensure drivers never got lost in the frozen tundra. The vehicle is now officially up for sale, and can be purchased directly through Ebay. [Purchase]
