The Overlanding community is full of diverse vehicles, ranging from smaller, escape-oriented platforms, all the way to large, overpowering trucks. While we’re fans of both, Isaac Van Essen’s “Radventure4” Toyota RAV4 SUV seems to strike a perfect balance between both genres, taking on everything that the outdoors has to offer, without leaning too far into one end of the spectrum.
The Radventure4 is a well-outfitted off-roader with a plethora of high-end parts. It was conceptualized and built by Essen as a rally-inspired overlander, taking on intricate additions like an LP Aventure Lift Kit, Factor55 HitchLink 2.0, a Yakima SlimShady awning, and a SkyRise HD rooftop tent for all of those lazy afternoons spent on the trail. But that’s not all. The 2019 RAV4 has also adopted an almost endless catalog of smaller components, including an Eco Hitch, interior refrigeration, a freezer, and upgraded power inverters to keep key accessories and navigation tools charged and at the ready. All of this wouldn’t mean much without a pair of formidable 245/70R17 Firestone Destination A/T2 tires to get the ridiculous RAV here it needs to go. We’ve only scraped the surface of Van Essen’s adaptable and adventurous SUV, so head over to his Instagram, where he posts about his travels on a regular basis, to learn more.
