While many purists might tell you a classic SUV is best left the way it rolled off the lot, we are certainly not opposed to a bit of tasteful restomodding. The way we see it, so long as the spirit of the original vehicle remains intact, what’s wrong with a little more performance, styling, and upgrades? That ethos seems to be shared with the folks at Black Dog Traders, the folks behind this gorgeous Toyota Land Cruiser ‘Hunter.’

Retro-styled from tip to tail, this Toyota Land Cruiser restomod is wanting for nothing – equipped with custom CNC trail bumpers, a WARN winch, Lizard Skin sound dampening and heat insulation, a safari roof rack, an upgraded roll cage, Old Man Emu suspension with Fox shocks, all-terrain tires, and more. And that’s just the outside; the inside also gets a custom woodgrain console with a matching steering wheel, a premium sound system, etc. The real star of the show, however, is under the hood: a 6.2L supercharged LSA engine capable of a whopping 556-horsepower – making this about as close as you’re going to get to a retro-SUV supercar.
