Out of Colorado, Topo Designs – a company that is known for well-built multi-functional outdoor gear, often with bright color-blocked designs – has offered up another take on a carry classic: the flap pack. Dubbed the Y-Pack, this backpack’s carefully considered form wouldn’t look out of place in either an urban or rural setting (and has features to suit both). Each one is made entirely in the USA and features a design that strikes the perfect balance between useful features and a minimalist construction.

With an exterior made from durable 1000D Cordura fabric, this flap top bag features a secondary drawstring closure to keep your items within protected from the elements. And there’s a secondary external easy-access zippered pocket for smaller items. The interior is lined with coated pack cloth and features an internal sleeve which can fit most 15-inch laptops. Between the low profile shoulder straps, 14.4 liter capacity, and 18.4 ounce overall weight, this bag is perfect for either everyday carry in the city or a weekend day-hike. Topo offers them for just $98. [Purchase]
