The term “old meets new” never fit so well or looked so good as with Topo Designs’ new collaboration with Oregon based boot maker Danner. Just take a look at their new Ridge Boot and you’ll see why.
Both of the outdoor companies proudly make all of their goods right here in the U.S., so even while Topo Designs is much younger than Danner (Danner was founded in 1932) the collaboration feels like a natural one. The Ridge boot’s new silhouette was inspired by one of Danner’s most classic, the Danner Light Boot, but it has the distinctive fun and playful look that is characteristic of Topo’s gear. The upper is made from a tough full Horween leather, while the sides consists of a teal 100 denier Cordura nylon. For protection from the weather and support on long hikes, the boot includes GORE-TEX waterproof protection, an Ortholite footbed, and a thin but super grippy Kletterlift outsole. All things said, these may very well be some of the most handsome boots we’ve seen all year. Prices start at $380. [Purchase]
