New Balance Taps Todd Snyder For A Retro ’90s-Inspired 997 Sneaker Collab

Since the fashion label’s inception in 2011, Todd Snyder has become an eminent name in the men’s clothing sector, routinely tapped by a host of big-name outfits for various collaborative projects and products. After previously joining forces with the likes of Champion, Timex, and Red Wing, the New York-based label has now circled back around to deliver another collaboration with East Coast sneaker company New Balance.

Dubbed the “Triborough 997,” the new shoe is the result of TS taking the 1990s classic and bestowing it with a subtle yet unique revision. While there’s a grip of minor tweaks and changes over the standard 997 such as a synthetic and foam construction revamp accented via pig suede uppers, the Triborough-spec’s biggest departure from the normal shoe is the retro “Flying NB” logo replacing the “N” that’s typically plastered on the sides of the footwear. The Triborough also features an ENCAP midsole and a polyurethane rim to provide weal parts comfort and support. Offered in gray, blue, or burgundy colorways, the Todd Snyder x New Balance Limited-Edition Triborough 997 is available now as an online-only item with pricing set at $230.
