For anyone who’s spent a significant amount of time in the state of Maine during the summer, you know that Mainers don’t own lakehouses like in other parts of the country — they own “camps.” Maine camps aren’t tent sites, but rather cabins in the woods… often on a lake. And when Mainers describe anything that goes on at these cabins, it is always with the phrase “upta camp.” What are we getting at here? Just providing you with a little background information on designer Todd Snyder’s latest collaboration with Maine heritage outfitter L.L.Bean, which is aptly named “Upta Camp.”
The Upta Camp collection from Todd Snyder and L.L.Bean sees the New York-based designer put his stylish menswear twist on some of the Bean’s traditional rugged Maine clothing. The collection consists of a whopping 85 pieces, and the inspiration behind the capsule was, naturally, Maine camp life. Snyder combed through the L.L.Bean archives to find heritage pieces that were deserving of his unique touch and ended up reimagining some old-school L.L.Bean icons in the process. Fans of the brands can look forward to copping Snyder’s versions of the Baxter State Parka, Ranger Shirt, and Cruiser Boot, among others. The Todd Snyder x L.L.Bean Upta Camp collection will be available from Todd Snyder’s website and in the brand’s stores on September 24. Interested parties can sign up at the Todd Snyder website to be informed the moment the collection drops.
