To accommodate serious golfers with mean swings who generate an abundance of spin off the tee, Titleist just added a new tool to their lineup, joining the TS2 and TS3 drivers released last summer. The Titleist TS4 Driver delivers incredible spin reduction for players who don’t have trouble generating clubhead speed.
At 430cc, the TS4 model has a smaller head compared to the 460cc TS2 and TS3. It keeps its weight in the sole, right behind the leading edge to shift the driver’s center of gravity forward. The construction of the TS4 helps in lowering spin and decreasing the launch angle which should equate to longer rolls on the fairway and less errant slices and hooks into the rough. According to Titleist, the TS4 generates 300rpm less spin than the TS3. It also has the thinnest cast-titanium crown in the game for a more penetrative ball flight and a traditional pear shape to make it more aerodynamic for increased speed on the downswing. The TS4 Driver will come in 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5-degree variations. The driver will make its PGA Tour debut this week and you can pick one up for yourself in June for $499.
