Thule and Tepui have always been at the forefront of innovation, especially when it comes to outdoor adventures. For a while now, the brands have been at the apex of camp-savvy sleeping areas, producing a handful of interesting, rooftop tents for use in the wilderness. But what happens when you want to utilize one of their full-sized enclosure alongside your favorite adventure-worthy items, like a kayak, snowboard, or bike? Figuring out a complex rooftop layout has always put a damper on an otherwise amazing product — until now.
As it turns out, Thule and Tepui have turned to their talented designers to create an all-new system that takes up about half the space of traditional models, without the dismissal of contemporary pleasantries. Dubbed the Foothill, this unique tent promises half the width of a traditional, two-person tent, while still allowing room for your favorite outdoor items. It folds down into a sleek, aerodynamic 9.5-inch enclosure, allowing it to orient to a specific side of your rack, freeing up enough room for an additional clamp/mount accessory. But don’t let its small size fool you. This enclosure can still sleep two adults comfortably and features a wide entry, oversized panoramic windows, and dual sky-lights, complementing its UV and mold resistant construction. Look for the Foothill to hit Thule’s website in February of 2021.
