ICON 4×4 has a penchant for the restoration and revitalization of mid-century pickups. When it comes to the Chevrolet Thriftmaster, however, this penchant evolves into something much more intimate. While the brand has created its fair share of one-off Thriftmaster builds over the years, few can hold a candle to its most recent project — the Old School Edition — which has been engineered to offer its buyer a bespoke, one-of-a-kind driving experience.
The new Old School Thriftmaster strikes a perfect balance between contemporary automotive design and iconic originality, incorporating an equal measure of both. It maintains its classic persona thanks to an immediately-recognizable exterior shell; although, beneath the surface, it’s a much different beast. ICON 4×4’s talented team members took to the drawing board to redesign certain aspects of the vehicle’s chassis, suspension, and interior, while also gifting it an all-new, 430-horsepower LS3 V8 engine. The Thriftmaster’s eye-catching exterior has been finished in a two-tone, light vintage green, and features retro peripherals that look like they were pulled straight out of the 1950s. Inside, the pickup adopts premium saddle leather seats, roof upholstery, and matching green suede piping. Head to ICON 4x4s website to inquire about your own Thriftmaster build.
