The Wheelhouse in Los Angeles

Coffee shops are more than just a spot to grab your favorite drink. The best of them are hangouts, public forums, and even quasi community centers. Los Angeles based Wheelhouse checks all of those boxes and more.

Located in the arts district of the sprawling Southern Californian city, this coffee bar is set in an industrial two storied space complete with large roll-down windows, big couches, and plenty of tables for sitting around. Stop in downstairs, and you can get your choice of coffee brewed with award winning Olympia Coffee beans. If you head upstairs, you’ll run into a bike shop that offers everything from simple tune ups to more complicated jobs. Owners Tami and Chase Spenst poured a lot of effort into making this space inviting and open. In fact, Tami (who also runs a small design firm by the name of Pluck) served as the design lead for the project. Be sure to drop by this spot the next time you’re cruising through the City of Angels.
