Bomber jackets have come a long way since they were first introduced as flight jackets back in the early 50s. Now, what was once a utilitarian necessity for pilots is held as a wardrobe staple for practically any guy.

Case-in-point: The Very Warm’s Carter Bomber Jacket. Here, the New-York-based brand offers a lightweight satin version of the classic olive green bomber complete with custom chrome metallic zippers and zipper pulls. Additionally, soft ribbing on the waistband, collar and wrist openings ensures a secure yet comfortable fit and flap side pockets keep any and all everyday carry items both safe and secure. As for the interior, unique artwork from New York artist Layer Cake adorns the jacket while dual interior chest pockets and a forearm zipped stash pocket keep purposefully-hidden items out of sight. It’s all part of The Very Warm’s new Lightweight Collection that incorporates artwork from various artists from all over. Available now in palm, mauve, navy or black colorways.

Purchase: $250
