The Rock Restaurant In Zanzibar

When we first heard about The Rock Restaurant, we pictured waiters with bad Sean Connery accents serving up gruel on Alcatraz. Thankfully, that is not the case. Whether you want to enjoy fresh seafood in a stunningly unique environment, or just find a legitimate reason to roll up your jeans, The Rock Restaurant is one for the bucket list. Located literally on a rock in the middle of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania, this eatery is oozing serenity.

The tide levels will determine whether you roll up the jeans or swim or boat your way over. Once you get there, prepare to be satisfied with dishes like octopus salad, jumbo prawns in curry sauce, or The Rock Special (grilled lobster, cigal, jumbo prawn, fish fillet and calamari).
