Prior to the turn of the millennium, movie memorabilia was sold by various auction houses all over the world, making it exceeding difficult for collectors to keep tabs on what lots and sales were available. Recognizing this problem, die-hard collector, Stephan Lane, founded the Prop Store: a centralized go-to source for Hollywood costumes, props, and other memorabilia. And while the Los Angeles outfit’s inventory is seldom without some incredibly elite items, one of its upcoming auctions boasts some of its most noteworthy offerings of recent times.
Scheduled to run on August 26th and 27th, the Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction features a diverse slew of lots from some of the best movies ever made. Items slated to cross the block include V’s (stunt) costume from V for Vendetta, an 11’ model of the Nostromo ship from Alien, Maverick’s helmet from Top Gun, one of Obi-Wan’s dueling lightsabers from Star Wars, Rocky Balboa’s boxing gloves, Ron Burgundy’s suit from Anchor Man, and the yellow 1966 Cadillac Coupe De Ville and the blue 1964 Karmann Ghia from Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, amongst many more.
