The North Face hasn’t left the industry spotlight this year, and in many ways, they’ve earned each and every bit of coverage due to an unrelenting commitment to innovation, practice, and people — especially those who push the boundaries of human achievement. Expeditionary icon Kit DesLauriers is one such individual; and now, The North Face is celebrating her influential endeavors with the newly-announced “7 Summits Collection.”
Back in 2006, DesLauriers became the first individual in history to scale, and descend, the Seven Summits — a continental collection of the world’s tallest peaks — in an irregular way. Not only did she traverse a handful of the most challenging environments known to man, but she completed each trek with a quick, ski-savvy descent, solidifying her trials in the annals of exploratory history. As an homage to her skill, dedication, and perseverance, The North Face has released the 7 Summits line, which is comprised of an arctic-imbued Himalayan Parka, a limited ’95 Denali Fleece, Explore Haulaback Backpack, and 7SE Boot; all of which arrive in a vivid yellow/black colorway. Each item is dressed in the company’s most innovative technical fabrics and materials, ensuring adequate use in the alpine environment; and for those who are interested in bespoke detailing, The North Face has added a selection of interchangeable patches to pay homage to the world’s highest peaks. The 7 Summits Collection is available now via TNF’s website.
