The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask Range

Dec 4, 2017

Category: Vices

On its own, Macallan makes a damn fine single malt Highland scotch. Needless to say, any variant based on that aged recipe is bound to deliver exciting results. Macallan’s Exceptional Single Cask Series does just that, featuring seven separate expressions ranging from 12-22 years of age in Sherry-seasoned casks.

Each individual cask for the project was selected by The Macallan Whisky Makers – chosen for its distinctive characteristics. And with each different expression comes a different aroma and flavor imparted upon the taster by the complexities of a fine aged single malt. It’s a product of the magic that occurs at the distillery’s Whisky Maker’s Bench, where each day a handful of lucky gents taste and assess Macallan’s full range of offerings. This time, they certainly landed upon something special – available at specified locations in early 2018.
