A Huge 300-Acre Adventure Park Compound Is Opening Outside Of Chicago

We all need to work to live, but play and exercise are far more important for our mental well-being. That’s why we try to do our best to get outside and adventure whenever we can. And that just got a whole lot simpler for anyone living in the greater Chicago area because The Forge at Lemont Quarries is opening this summer.

Located just a short drive southwest from downtown Chicago, The Forge is a massive 300-acre chunk of historically-significant land in a former quarry that has been completely renovated into a massive adventure park. That includes a huge range of available activities including kayaking, rock climbing, hiking and MTB trails, fishing, ziplines, and more. But the star attraction is undoubtedly the record-setting aerial challenge area — a three-tower ropes course (the largest on the North American continent) that looms over the landscape at heights of up to 120 feet. The gargantuan compound is also set to feature a children’s area, concessions, and even an outdoor amphitheater where attendees can see bands play live. Check out The Forge’s website for more information.
