There are two schools of thought when it comes to purchasing an SUV. You can either settle for a modern vehicle that can get the job done decently, but doesn’t look all that good. Or you can shell out a few clams more and get something classic, capable, and gorgeous. If you’re more keen on the latter, The FJ Company has some good news. They’ve just released what they’re calling the “ultimate classic Land Cruiser” – their Signature.
Available in Toyota FJ43 year models from 1976-1983, this timeless sport utility vehicle is perhaps the ultimate meshing of the old and the new. For starters, the entire truck features a hand-rebuilt authentic steel body placed atop an original Toyota FJ43 chassis. But powering the whole thing is a brand-spanking-new Toyota 1GR-FE Engine with improvements to performance and fuel efficiency and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It also features 4-wheel disc brakes, an Old Man Emu suspension with Fox shocks, power steering, and a custom exhaust. The interior also gets a makeover with heated leather-upholstered seats, a custom center console with an iPad Mini, and a booming sound system. This head-to-to restomod isn’t for those with shallow pockets, however, as the price starts at $200,000.
