Tetra Hotel By David Ajasa-Adekunle
Living in a pods usually has a pretty dystopian connotation. They appear in books, films, and even in some contemporary cities as a spartan space-saving solution to hyper-dense living environments. Almost as a rule these pods trade in basic comforts for a smaller overall footprint. David Ajasa-Adekunle, however, has dreamt up an alternative to this dim view of space-saving architecture. Introducing the Tetra Hotel.
An extension of Ajasa-Adekunle’s previous project the Tetra shed modular office pod, this hotel concept imagines a living space that is small but unconstrained. The hotel rooms feature multiple floors with the top storing a large bed set under a skylight while a shower is located just below it. A third platform features a couch for entertaining, and just beneath it at the bottom of the pod is a secluded working area with a full desk. Who knows, maybe the coming dystopia won’t be that bad.
